100 Days Of Leather

We think it’s safe to say that at Barney & Taylor, we believe in the value of photography. It’s why we drafted in Jonathan Beer to shoot our range in all of its glory, and made sure that his beautiful (now award-winning) photography spanned the full width of our website.

The whole experience we’ve had with photography has whetted our appetite for a project on a grander scale. A collaborative project, no less – letting you, the proud owners of our products and general Barney & Taylor enthusiasts, make your own mark.

Introducing… 100 Days of Leather.

One hundred days, one hundred beautiful images of people wearing leather in everyday life. It doesn’t have to be just jackets, either – it’s leather in all of its forms.

We’ve been inspired by everything we’ve seen on Scott Schuman’s website, The Sartorialist, you see. He’s got an incredible way of making the ordinary extraordinary, spotting the elegance in simple everyday sights and telling a rich story in one frame.

Five Barney & Taylor photographers have already hit the streets in pursuit of stylish men and women to take pictures of – but they’re stopping at ninety. We’re opening the last ten to amateur photographers, plucked from our challenge page over on ViewBug.

Once we’re done, we’ll pull everything together into a coffee table book – and the chosen ten will get a free copy of the book, hot off the presses. On top of that, we’ll pick one winner of that ten, and you’ll be able to choose the second winner – they’ll receive Barney & Taylor gift bags to acknowledge their accomplishments, on top of a copy of the finished book.

We’re looking forward to seeing what you come up with, and we’ll be steadily releasing the images on this very journal, as well as giving you a heads up on the usual social network offenders – that way, you can still follow along with the project, even if you don’t have the time to take part this time.

Good luck!
