Calling All Photographers

Posted on 17/01/14

Here at Barney & Taylor we take inspiration from all walks of life, whether that be the creative geniuses of fashion, art and photography or just the natural style, talent and flair of the ordinary man or woman on the street.  Our daily dose of cool always comes from The Sartorialist website ( Scott Schuman has an incredible way of taking the ordinary and making it extra-ordinary but he also has an exceptional eye for spotting style and elegance.

Our latest fascination has come from the 100 Beards Tumblr site ( where Jonathan Daniel Pryce has taken simple facial hair and in this case the ‘beard’ and he’s made an art form of it. Take a look for yourself and you will see what we mean.

So for 2014 we have decided to combine the two and set a challenge of 100 Leather Jackets 100 Days. We are looking for budding or professional photographers who can help us to achieve 100 leather jackets beautifully photographed for us to display on the Barney & Taylor journal over 100 days. You can send in as many as you like but each image must display a different leather jacket on a different person and we really want to hear the story associated with that jacket too – you only need to read through the rest of this site to know how much we love the history and unique stories that leather jackets and their owners have to tell.

So what’s in it for you, I hear you ask?

Well besides having your images take pride of place on our Journal and our Tumblr and Pinterest sites, our marketing team will be rolling out the 100 Leather Jackets story across a variety of online platforms and seeking the attention of fashion, arts and photography editors. At the very end of the 100 days the Barney & Taylor team will be voting for their very favourite shot and the overall winner will be able to choose a jacket of their choice from the brand new and exclusive B&T luxury garment collection.

If you are interested in helping us with 100 Leather Jackets 100 Days then please get in touch with us at or send your images to us at:

Our deadline for images will be April 30th 2014 and we are going to start running the feature on the journal on May 1st 2014.
